I am a native New Yorker with a diverse background. I served as the District Office Director and Director of Community Affairs in the New York State Senate for four and a half years. Most notably, in my Senate roles, I oversaw pandemic relief efforts in the high needs Harlem and East Harlem communities and helped to secure COVID-19 vaccination appointments for high needs populations when appointments were in short supply.
In 2020, I was selected by City & State as one of "City & State's NYC 40 Under 40 Rising Stars," in honor of my leadership skills that I used to influence our city and state governing institutions. These skills can best be seen through my leadership of a Senior Steering Committee that I started, where I was able to secure critical state funding for seniors, organize to prevent the closure of senior centers in Harlem, and successfully advocated to secure services that worked to keep seniors housed, fed, informed and prioritized in our local and state governmental affairs.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing at South Carolina State University (SCSU). I hold both a Juris Master and Juris Doctor from The Appalachian School of Law and was the Class Elected Speaker for graduation. I am an active member of my law school's alumni association where I served as secretary and am currently the Chair of the Outreach Committee. I am a Notary Public for the State of New York. I am a member of the Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in Harlem.
I am the proud mother of two children. I love helping people and giving back to my Harlem community.
